If you are planning on traveling before the wedding, then you will want to get yourself to Jaipur by Jan 2, at the latest.  Jaipur itself is a beautiful city with amazing explosions of color, open-air markets and its aesthetic is what many people think of when conjuring up images of quintessential India.

The trip to Jaipur from New Delhi is about 5 hours by train.
The Intercity Express leaves from the Old Delhi train station at 5:15 am.
The Shatabdi Express leaves from the New Delhi train station at 6:15 am.
These times are as of March 2006.  If we find any changes, we will post them here.  You can also find information on the Indian Rail website.

There are also 3 daily flights between Jaipur and Delhi.  They take about 45 minutes and are about US$75.

Samode Palace is 50 kilometers from Jaipur. We ask that everyone make their way to Samode Haveli, which was the city home of the Samode royal family, and is now a heritage hotel centrally located in the walled city of Jaipur. There will be a help desk set up in the courtyard where you should check in, and there will be several jeeps leaving all day from Samode Haveli to take you to Samode Palace. Depending upon where you are coming from, simply instruct your taxi to take you to Samode Haveli.
